The obvious answer would be to quit drinking. I’m young and I’m Irish, so fat chance of that happening. Can any of you give some good advice on this? I know of a lot of people like myself who only smoke when they’re out drinking, and have no desire whatsoever to light one up at any other time. Patches and nicorette gum, etc., therefore, I think really wouldn’t apply to people like us, because we don’t desire a cigarette any other time except when we are out on night on the town. So how can people like us resist the urge to smoke once we get a few drinks in us?

My mom recently quit smoking 3 days ago, because; of course its affecting her health. I want to know if anyone has any creative ways to help her stay of ciggarettes! I was thinking for her 10th day to get a single rose with a note saying “Happy 10th”
Any other ideas or words of encouragement?
Anything would help and be very much appreciated!
Thank you!

I quitted smoking few months ago but still have tight chest, dry mouth and stuffy nose on and off for a while. Anyone had same experience after quitting smoking? Thanks in advance.
I also experienced slight chill and fatigue sometimes and after a while they went away.

Now, I don’t smoke often. I’d say I smoke about one cigar a month. She doesn’t like it, but I just can’t throw away all of my cigars I’ve had for years (30 count). They’re more than a hobby, they’re a passion. I’m having a hard time convincing her that I don’t get carried away with my cigars and that I always enjoy them for special occasions only. Hell I even have a cigar laid out (aged 9 years) for when we get married. Some help please.

I know cold turkey is obviously effective but the withdrawl symptoms are a little much. I’ve heard of pills, patches, and gums. Which one worked best for you or someone you know?

I am 30 years old and have smoked since I was 14. I’ve made efforts to quit but in retrospect, they were half-assed at best. I’ve placed my last unopened pack on the mantle and would like it to stay there, sealed in cellophane for all eternity.

Does anybody have any tricks, suggestion, encouragement, or any manner of advice on how to avoid stress-related cravings and nicotine withdrawal. I prefer to go about this without patches, gum, and other such replacements.

I’ve been smoking on and off since i was 17, i’m 24 now. And although i don’t buy them and don’t smoke during most of the week, I smoke like a chimney anytime i step foot in a bar. GEt a drink in me and I can’t control myself. I want to quit for good, even while drinking, has anyone done this successfully, and how did you do it?

I am on anti-depressants to help alleviate the depression, but it keeps getting worse. I finally succeeded in quitting smoking, but I feel worse now than I did for the eleven years that I smoked. I’ve been exercising and eating right to. I just don’t know what else to do.
