he promised he’d quit by October but he smokes up to 4 or 5 a day and I don’t think he’s going to make it. My mom is convinced he isn’t going to but I’m determined that he will because it’s unhealthy, it makes him smell bad, and his whole life revolves around whether he has enough cigars or not. Any tips on how I can help him quit?

Its driving my absolutely crazy, my dad smokes non-stop everyday, on the balcony and I can frequently smell it… I’ve been trying to persuade him to quit for years, but he never does. The subject of smoking always ends up in a heated argument and it really starts to affect the relationship a lot.

Plus the cigarettes cost a lot due to laws and it really gets on my nerves because its a waste of money. I really am concerned that I have been exposed one time to many, I have to eat dinner a lot and the guests smoke so much that I am concerned about getting illnesses from second hand smoke…

The facts don’t really work aganst him (well he never pays tha slightest attention on stuff that says bad things about smoking)…

My dad has basicly given up after all this years. Im going to show her some pictures of a damiged lungs. i dont care if she grounds me i just want here to quit smoking. Hello, my dad is trying (and determined) to quit smoking. Some choices that he is willing to take is Nicoteen Gum, Nicoteen Patch, Chantix, or Cold turkey (when you quit smoking without any help). Please pick the option and list positives and negatives about it.
Oh yeah, and just to let you know, my dad only smokes about 1-2 cigarrettes a day. So he’s not a heavy smoker. He’s just still addicted to it.

Guys, both me and my dad are smokers. I have been smoking for 4 years, but my dad took up smoking about 20 years ago. I am ready to quit and I hope that if I urge him to take my example by telling him that it will be easier for both of us to leave cigarettes aside if we have sb to look up to, he will quit. What other strategies could I use? Or is there a product I can put in his food for him to stop feeling the need to smoke without knowing why? I must say that he is coughing all the time and he has a bad physical condition. Please help
