I quit smoking almost 2 months ago, and for the last month or so, things that I used to love, mostly bread-related things like pizza, hamburgers, Quizno’s, etc.. have a very strange texture in my mouth after I chew a few times. It is so hard to explain, but all these things just feel gross in mouth now, and they are some of my favorite things to eat. Does anyone know what it is? Will it go away?

Im 17 & have been smoking cigarettes for about 7 months now. I go through about a pack a day. My friends infulence me to smoke becuase I am around them when they do it. I know everyone will just say to get new friends, but they ARE my friends and i LOVE them despite their flaws. I am not going to just DROP my friends because of their bad habits, i should be a strong enuf preson myself to be able to hangout with them even if they are smoking and personally still not smoke. I WANT TO QUIT; how can i slowly quit without spending hundreeds of dollars on the nicotine gum or the patch? helpppp

I’ve done a lot! She just won’t stop! I;ve talked to her and told her what I think, and that I care and love her, and want her to be around when I have kids, but she doesn’t stop, she just slows down, and starts up again! She’s always coughing and getting sick!! I’m really worried that she’ll die and I’ll end up in foster care!!! What can I do!? Every time I try to even talk to her now about it, she gets mad, and she’s an RN (Nurse) so she knows what happens! But STILL she doesn’t seem to care!! I’ve tried showing her pictures and everything, and she just gets mad at me! What should I do!?!?
The Joker, you have a great answer, but I’ve already tried that and she just got mad at me.

My father just had his 4th or 5th heart attack yesterday. He is facing surgery tomorrow. After the last surgery, the doctor told him he had to quit smoking or else he would see him for surgery within the next 2 years. He refuses to quit. I dont know how to get him to quit. I want him around to see my 3 yr old gradute High School, get married, and have her own kids. How can i convince him to quit smoking? I love him and dont want to lose him to something that could of been prevented. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I’m a passive smoker,i quit twice, only to smoke again. Why is it so difficult?I love exercising and running but always short of breath and get tired easily.Smoking make my exercise routine difficult. If only i quit,i can enjoy it more.It also make my stamina run low.

I LOVE smoking ciggys, but 3 days ago i decided i was not going to buy any more ciggys and i haven’t. i am dying for a ciggy but for some reason my body will not let myself drive to the gas station and buy a pack. How and why did this happen? I didn’t even want to quit, i still drink coffee, and stit out side on my “smoking” chair, my friends give me no support. I dont understand??
