Im 17 & have been smoking cigarettes for about 7 months now. I go through about a pack a day. My friends infulence me to smoke becuase I am around them when they do it. I know everyone will just say to get new friends, but they ARE my friends and i LOVE them despite their flaws. I am not going to just DROP my friends because of their bad habits, i should be a strong enuf preson myself to be able to hangout with them even if they are smoking and personally still not smoke. I WANT TO QUIT; how can i slowly quit without spending hundreeds of dollars on the nicotine gum or the patch? helpppp

Is it wrong to use other “drugs” like nicotine, caffeine, and alcohol to help?

I have been smoking for about 4yrs on and off until recently for the last 1.5yrs. I know the facts. But how do I quit that won’t have me go through much withdrawal? I know I will continue to crave for nicotine. What do you know that have worked to help people quit smoking?

-Thanks

Basil

Why do I feel so horrible and I quit smoking?
I recently quit smoking….its going on about 6 or 7 weeks now. During my quitting venture I have heard alot of different things. Like I heard the first week is the hardest and that after that first week all the nicotine is out f your system, but for me it was hard the first week, 2nd week easy, 3rd started to get harder, now not so much though. The weirdest thing is though is that I thought I would feel better, be able to breathe better, just not feel so tired. I sometimes now have a harder time breathing than when I smoked!! Although I don’t think I will, I think to myself I might as well have kept smoking cuz I don’t really feel any better…….

I want to quit smoking and resort to the nicotine inhaler but I’m afraid I’m going to be fat again, this is one of my worst fears. I have been smoking for 2 years. What do you have to say…?

My younger sister is looking to quit before starting a family and needs some advice. If you have quit smoking using any kind of nicotine replacement therapy (patch, nicotine gum, etc) which did you find to be the most effective and why? These products are pretty expensive so she doesn’t want to experiment too much.

I know she tried quitting cold turkey before and was not the nicest person to be around - she also felt pretty sick. So that isn’t the best choice for her.
