My mom has been smoking for thirty-seven years, and she is finally ready to quit. I was wondering if you have any tips for long-time smokers that seriously want to quit — without the use of medication.. (patches okay)
I quit smoking for new years and i smoke occasionally [when i go out drinking]. i feel a lump in my throat and i don’t know why. is this contributed to my quitting or could is just be a ‘cold in my throat’ or something else? Someone suggested that the lump is from the ‘flem’ i’ve been caughing up.
I quit smoking on New Years and this is pretty rough. After 18 years of smoking, chemical dependence really has a grip on me. I heard that there are some herbal treatments that can help. Anyone know any?
No… I am not interested in advice that involves SMOKING herbs
Thanks in advance!
I have smoked a pack a day for a year. I always smoke full flavor and I’m wondering if I cut down to lights, then cut down on my amount if this would be easier and easier. Did nicotine patches work?

My life insurance company wants to do a blood test for, among other things, nicotine. I quit nearly five months ago, will it still show up? I’d like to be considered a non-smoker, and I have no intention of starting again.
I quit smoking about 2 months ago, and while at times my breathing is easier, a lot of the time i feel like I’m a step away from wheezing, and i have trouble taking in a breath. Anyone have any idea what this could be or have a similar experience?
I’m 29 years old and I am desperately wanting to quit smoking. I have tried everthing from gum, the patch, the inhaler, stopping cold turkey, and even hypnotisim. I just can’t stop. I have two young children that desperately want me to quit and I want to for them and for myself. To make matters worse I have had bad asthma since I was a small child.
I need to quit asap, I want to feel healthy and like a 22 y/o again. I’ve smoked a pack a day for 3 years.. what will my body feel like? What things will happen to me and how long before the cravings stop?
A few weeks ago I woke up and went out with my fiance’s mom (she doesn’t know we smoke).. so for 8 hours I survived without one. I should have quit for good!
